The role: Data Center Facilities Technician (Engineer)
At Google we have new job opportunities for experienced Facilities Technicians (with skills in mechanical or electrical maintenance) in our new data center facility near Mons in Belgium.
Working in the facilities team you will have key responsibility for operating, monitoring and maintaining the facilities infrastructure for one of our newest and largest Data Center operations outside the US.
Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, UPS, generators, electrical distribution and Control and Monitoring Systems.
* Develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs, whilst improving efficiencies
* Operate, monitor, maintain and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment
* Tracking and trending operational characteristics
* Provide on-call cover
Requirements:
* A2 Diploma or Degree level qualification in electro-mechanical engineering preferred.
* Experience in mechanical maintenance- including HVAC, plumbing, water pumps and water treatment, evaporator systems etc
* And/Or experience in electrical maintenance in critical large scale facilities (Data Centre, Pharma, Medical or Electrical)- including UPS, generators etc
* Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new process, procedures and equipment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills. (Ability in French and English an advantage)
* Valid EU Work Authorisation
