Our client is an international pharmaceutical company located in Belgium. Due to an increase in the workload, they are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Statistician (M/F) to join their dynamic R&D team. For more information please contact Louise Beka
You will have the following responsibilities:
• Give statistical and experimental design support to scientists
• Review validation documents of biological assays
• Development of statistics applications
• Analysis of preclinical and clinical data with Analysis of variance and models like mixed models and linear and non linear models
• Perform Statistical analyses and write statistical reports
• You will also use the following methodologies in Statistics: Descriptive statistics, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Linear and non linear models, Multivariate analysis, mixed models, repeated measures
• Statistical software: SAS (BASE/STAT/GRAPH/macro/AF), S-Plus, SPAD, PASS, Modalisa, Unistat, STATGRAPHICS, Matlab, Scilab, MAPINFO
With regards to the qualifications and experience, the company will consider candidates with the following profile:
• MSc/PhD in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics or related field
• 3 years experience as a Statistician in Preclinical, Bioassay, non clinical, R&D or agronomical statistics
• Demonstrate expertise in the field of Bioassay development and validation, design of experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, stability study design and analysis, specifications required
• Demonstrate knowledge of ANOVA (nested, mixed, repeated) in complex designs and survival models
• Fluent in English at verbal and written level in order to present, answer questions clearly and defend a dossier in front of clients and regulatory authorities
• Knowledge of French or willingness to learn French would be preferable
• Demonstrate SAS skills and PASS sample size software and at least one specialized experimental design software like Design Expert, NemrodW, Modde.
• Skills in Statistics: Descriptive statistics, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Linear and non linear models, Multivariate analysis, mixed models, repeated measures
• Strong knowledge of statistical principles and strong statistical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate clearly statistical/experimental design concepts to non-statisticians
• Proven performance of required tasks, as evidenced in outstanding performance in current tasks and/or documented record of accomplishments
• Good organisational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities
• Innovative approach and ability to think outside the box
• Customer-oriented with willingness to clearly understand biological language, aims, problems and all associated constraints
• Stress-resistant and ability to manage his/her emotions
