The Role

We are currently looking for an API Desktop Financial Application Developer to join our Tokyo API Desktop Build Team. The Desktop Build Group is a resource which works closely with the Sales Department to build ad hoc desktop solutions for our customers.

The aim of the team is to increase our client's dependency on Bloomberg by creating desktop solutions, mainly spreadsheets that use our API. The successful candidate will be assigned to specific projects and have the ability to prioritize various workloads.

Projects include assisting customers in migrating their worksheets from competitor products to Bloomberg data and building sophisticated models in VBA that fill a product gap. The role is client facing and the candidate must be comfortable discussing the project requirements with all players working in the financial markets. Due to the level of client and product exposure, the candidate would also be expected to provide valid feedback to the business in order to help improve our product.

Qualifications

-Exceptional knowledge of Excel and Excel VBA
-Prior experience working within Financial Markets
-Proactive, energized, orientated and prepared to take ownership in a fast
turnaround/development environment.
-Knowledge of competitor products is not required though would be beneficial.
-Strong communication skills, as the job involves daily interaction with Bloomberg customers and Bloomberg Sales Force is necessary.
-Fluency in Japanese and English is must
