The role: Compliance Assistant, Online Legal Support
Google?s legal team is growing! You should be eager to take on the challenges of working in a fast-paced, constantly-changing organization. The Online Legal Support Compliance Assistant will join a team of dedicated individuals and should be extremely proactive, organized and responsible. You will play a central role in keeping the subpoena compliance operations and activities organized, on track and moving forward. You should have exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, heavy internet user, excellent judgment; comfortable juggling tasks from the mundane to the more strategic and can work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a smile and a sense of humor. Primary responsibilities include working with government agencies and external legal counsel on third- party discovery matters.
Responsibilities:
* Review and process subpoenas, including third-party discovery matters.
* Respond to internal and external legal inquiries.
* Facilitate communication of process and policy to third-party attorneys.
* Assist with the creation of documentation for existing and new policies and procedures.
* Work with special projects as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (not required to be a lawyer, in lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
* 1 year of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Solid analytical skills, with a strong desire to review legal documents and support numerous legal matters.
* Be able to manage different projects and large volumes of work quickly and simultaneously under deadline pressure.
* Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters and support a wide range of products.
* Fluent verbal and written Portuguese and English skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Deep Google products and social networks knowledge.
* Willingness to work with sensitive issues, including but not limited to: *Adult content. *Religious and philosophically sensitive issues. *Alcohol, tobacco, weapons and other potentially offensive products.
